Uganda’s public transport system is for instance too chaotic as passengers and transport operators crisscross each other in the busy bus and taxi parks. Additionally, transport operators lose a lot of revenue as untrustworthy conductors charge money that is not recorded anywhere in the operator’s books, thus revenue leakages.
KaCyber offers online ticketing services via a Mobile Application (KaCyber Go App) to buses, trains, and ferries; currently supporting four transport operators including Uganda Railways passenger train, Star Link Transporters, Highway coaches, and Malayika Transporters. Passengers can select and book their preferred seat number, according to availability.
Over 20,000 travel tickets for bus and train are issued through the KaCyber platform per month. And we are currently in talks with the Ministry of Works and Transport to onboard MV Kalangala on the KaCyber Platform.
At KaCyber Technologies, we are also exploring the avenue of partnering with telecom service providers to deploy USSD as an option to deliver cheaper digital ticketing and payment services for transport operators.
