Experience Martin Karungi is currently employed as Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) analyst with the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda. Martin has 10years of working experience in the technology space, but more precisely within the Cyber security domain.
Martin, from a governance level, is a cybersecurity policy advisor on Cyber operations and advanced security to the Office of the President. He previously worked at the Central Bank of Uganda as Information Business Automation analyst. In his earlier career, Martin extensively worked as a software developer at the Clinton foundation while he was still pursuing his bachelor’s degree at Strathmore University in Nairobi.

Martin is a Product Manager and Co-founder of Savannah Cyber. Savannah Cyber is the cyber security advisory company, a digital transformation company focused on helping businesses, governments, organizations and individuals leverage emerging technologies to become more profitable and efficient.
Martin is the current seating member of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Cyber Security for the Government of Uganda representing the National Information Technology Authority. In the same breath Martin also seats on the Northern Corridor Integration Projects – ICT Committee that is responsible for the key strategic planning for engineering, implementation, designs and execution of various technology within the Northern Corridor states.
He is a member of the National Information Security Advisory Group (NISAG). The NISAG is a fusion of the public and private sector experts in Information Security whose role is to advise the Government on current threats and threat sources in Uganda’s cyberspace. The membership comprises of the banking, telecommunications, energy, utility, military, and Government sectors.
